Q: My Wacom Intuos 2 is not working with Mavericks ! anyone experiencing the same problem ?

I updated from 10.7 to 10.9 a few days ago and now my Intuos 2 wacome table is not working.

Anyone has any ideas on why this is or how to fix ?

I have installed the latest drive 6.3.7-3 from the wacome website with no luck.

Cheers for your help,

Thank you very much for this post.  My Mac Mini started acting up and I had to do a reinstall of OS X 10.9.5 and after the installation my Intuos 2 tablet would not function and the message "Tablet not found" kept popping up despite the numerous tablet driver versions that I downloaded and installed.  I am quite happy with my 'old model' tablet and am a strong proponent of the saying "If it ain't broke don't fix/replace it" or as we say in Trinidad "A good working old thing is better than a young thing".   This solution worked beautifully and I made sure to save the driver download in numerous locations so that if I need to use it in the future it can be readily accessed.  I urge others having the same problem to do likewise since the web link may not be available 'forever'.  Thanks again.

Long term update. Installed a clean copy of 10.11.5, then imported preferences via Migration Assistant.

Plugging in Intuos2 6x8, it turns on. Theres still no driver update so I pulled WacomTablet_6.2.0w4 from my installer archive.

Good news is, tablet runs like new. Bad news is, I get this when opening wacom preferences

Thankfully my MA import gave me all the settings I need but long term may have to upgrade.

This is how it will work for wacom intuos 2 on el capitan mac os 10.11 :

    1. deinstall any wacom driver with the wacom tool

    2. install this https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572?locale=de_DE

    3. install this wacom driver https://driverscollection.com/_43572900294c6f3b07c4ab530bd/Download-Wacom-Intuos -Driver-v.6.17-5-for-Mac-OS-X-free

this is the only way i get it to work for me.
