Q: Why can't I get my iPad to connect via bluetooth to my iPhone 5s?

I never have been able to get my iPhone 4s or the new iPhone 5s to connect with my iPad via Bluetooth. Both are running the latest 7.0.3 software.

What are you trying to accomplish by this type of connection? iOS devices use Bluetooth to connect to dado phones, speakers, some keyboards and a few other devices. Bluetooth on iOS devices is not set up to connect two iOS devices.

The Bluetooth on iPad is meant for earplug, headset, keyboard, car hands-free set and speakers.

You need 3rd party apps to do file transfer.

Maybe I've missunderstood, but I thought that when the two devices were connected, files such as photos could be sent back-and-forth. It appears that my iPad is old enough to not support AirDrop.
