MacBook Air not scrolling

I bought my MacBook Air just over a week ago. In the past few days, it has happened several times where the two-finger scrolling stops working until I close what I have open and re-open it. All other gestures work, just not the scrolling. In addition, it has now started to not recognize the two-finger swipe to go back a page, in addition to the scrolling not working. Any ideas as to what is going on or how to fix it?

MacBook Air, iOS 7.0.3, I am running the latest OS

I noticed this also. It only started happening on my late 2011 model Macbook Air 11" since I installed Mavericks. It's very random and two applications that I see it happen the most are the Mac App Store (go figure) and Chrome. I've not found any long term solution, but I can confirm what you said, closing the affected app and re-opening it seems to help temporarily.
