Performance considerably faster as guest user

Hello everyone,

I have noticed a considerable improvement on overall performance when using the mac as a guest user. I currently use my mac as "standard user" 99% of the time, if I were to create a new standard user, would I be able to have all the content from the older account on the new one? I would like to try this out before doing a clean OS install.

Kind regards

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

You could maybe back up your important files i don't know, but making a clean install (or even making a new account) on Mavericks really helps. It gets really really fast ! I personnaly partioned my disk and installed Mavericks on a brand new partition with nothing on it and then moved some of my files and applications to it and deleted my old and slow partition ! It's going at light speed now, and i have an old 2009 low-end MacBook Pro.
