Jan 31, 2014 7:59 AM in response to xtrangeby Asch70,Really? Even with the Apple TV? And the Apple? Mute.

Jan 31, 2014 8:08 AM in response to kentendoby xtrange,For example: If I watch e movie through the AppleTV there`s a lot movie frame lost, cause it depends on the wifi network. Sometimes, if the scene it`s complex, the quality goes down dramatically.
Maybe for a Power Point presentation, it`s a great solution, but for movies and multimedia, definetevly not.

Jan 31, 2014 12:23 PM in response to schreibersby TM golfer,As schreibers suggessted bought the belkin cable and it worked immediately. No reboot needed. Plugged it in and it worked.

Feb 13, 2014 4:42 PM in response to kentendoby cosmosuncle,Has anyone had luck with this yet? It looks like Schreibers solution worked for 2 people...which was buying a Belkin 16FT Mini DisplayPort to HDMI...but this is unacceptable. I purchased an Apple product (MiniDisplay to HDMI) that worked fine before the upgrade.
Apple, can you help us with an update at least? This used to work before I upgraded to Mavricks - I'm sure it's something that can be fixed with software.
Thank you.

Feb 13, 2014 4:52 PM in response to kentendoby cosmosuncle,Okay. I just messed around with this a little more and read some other forums where they suggest opening the "Display" menu in preferences, click the radial labeled, "Scaled" and then change the resolution. I wasn't seeing anything happening to the other monitor so I tried unplugging and plugging the cable back in while I changed the resolution and now it works!
Not a great fix but give it a try.

Mar 2, 2014 1:38 PM in response to Turbo240Zby Turbo240Z,I replaced the HDMI->DVI adapter I was using, keeping the DVI cable I had and now I have picture again. I don't remember where I got the first one from, but this new one I picked up from Monoprice.com part number 2080 for $2.44. They look similar and I have no idea what the internal differences are, but I'm happy to have my laptop shut hooked up to a larger display.
I think somenoe else here mentioned that a cable replacement helped them as well.
Good luck.

Mar 13, 2014 11:17 AM in response to kentendoby Anonymous1776,worst $ I have ever spent. Hey apple I am disgusted with your lack of service on this divice! MBP 15" HDMI direct into my mac, and direct into the TV. I've tried 3 HDMI cords they work on my xbox 360 and xbox one. I plug in to this $2-3000.00 netflix/facebook machine and it doesnt work.. How can you call it an update if it causes problems and doesn't change anything else? It worked fine fresh out of the box but ever since this update last year it wont function properly. I am beyond ******. I've tried every thing on these threads aside from buying adapters as this computer has an HDMI outputjack built into it... give us an explination and acknowlegement of the issue. *** is going on apple??

Mar 13, 2014 12:19 PM in response to xtrangeby kkwan77,I have the occasional issue with the HDMI monitor going black on restart and sometimes bootup, I end up having to unplug the monitor (as the power button is non-functional when this happens) for it to recieve signal.

Mar 29, 2014 1:12 PM in response to kentendoby Toni73,I have a simple AOC E1649FWU 16" USB-Powered Portable LED Monitor that I use for my bookkeeping…..don’t need anything fancy for that
It was working fine before I and now I can’t even get my ’09 MacBook Pro to even recognize it….I’m totally NOT happy.
Thinking of getting rid of Maverick. I need this 2nd monitor to work.

Mar 29, 2014 3:26 PM in response to Toni73by anbes,Didn`t work here.
This is extremely boring. Have lot of movies in my external HD, I used to watch them using my macbook air plugged in HDMI, but now, no deal....
I tryed using the VGA adaptor, the original one was ok, another one bought at best buy used to work fine, but now it seams that it is not working too.
What is said is that none of any trouble that we use to discusses here, and that appears to be a software / upgrade issue, I mean an Apple problem, none of them was corrected, and no feed back was never given here, even a feed back sayng: "Yes, I know this problem, we are working on it..." Nothing.. The problems are up to us....
I have a list for some of theses issues, like: this one about Mavericks VS HDMI, Icloud VS deleted documents, e-mail syncing and lost messages, Frozen start ups.... well, Some of them don`t exist anymore, but the point is: I neve read a single Feed Back from Apple. This HDMI vs Mavericks is one of the most unpleasent issue I passing trhought. And it isn`t something that started a day, or a week. There are months of complaning, and Apple is mude.
Shame on you Apple... That`s not something we really expected from This company...
