The only change I've made to my system recently is upgrading when the software upgrade asked me to. Now I find iTunes sorta wonky -- especially in the "Albums View" -- it lags, it freezes, that beachball spins, ...
I'm still running OSX 10.6.8 and am reluctant to do the recent OS upgrade given my iTunes.
Any thoughts?

I' ve been searching for other people that experienced this. I own a huge album collection but never experienced such freezing, delay, scroll problem. Itunes ran flawlwssly no matter how many albums are entered/processed. Even playback is problematic! If you choose to play an album you better have a lot of patience!! Entering an album in m4a format was the same as mp3: some seconds...Now it takes 2-3 minutes. AT LEAST! Meanwhile the playback bar freezes to the last minute, and got sick and tired of the beachball spins!!! Hope that our friends at Apple hear our conversation & will solve it SOON! It isn't that I'm glad you are having troubles but I am reassured that I ain't alone.
I too have a tonne of music -- like 43,000 songs -- maybe that adds to the troubles. And, as I said the beachball really gets spinning when I look at things by album.
This is the first time I've had bad luck with one of the upgrades Apple sends me.
Fingers crossed.
