Keynote accessibility / Voiceover broken in presenter view
I use an iPad running Keynote along with a VGA dongle to present lectures. I've been using a Satechi Bluetooth presenter remote to advance slides while presenting, however the latest version of Keynote seems to break this.
Upon further investigation, the remote still works fine if I present the show without the VGA dongle attached (i.e. when the slides take up full screen without a slide navigator or clock at the top. I can still advance through although not as easily as before (i.e. it selects each item and animations aren't working as well as they were). If I connect up the VGA dongle, I cannot advance with the remote anymore - clicking the up/down/right/left arrows either do nothing or move through the touche-able areas at the top of the presenter screen (i.e. slide navigator, clock, layout options, etc...).
Seems like the remote is giving commands that Keynote no-longer responds to when using Voiceover. Not sure where to begin trying a fix - the manufacturer obviously coded to emulate a certain press, while the product is responding differently to that press than it did. Seems like other manufacturers of assistive devices are also going to experience this as their products will no longer work as intended.
Any thoughts on a fix / work-around?
Thanks,
Jon.
