Pages 5: Spacing between bullets (not line spacing)

I think I'm missing something, because this isn't working for me.

The after-alinea space I set, is also used between the list items. So if I set it to 12p, I have large space between my list items. It seems each list item is treated like a new paragraph. I tried using shift + enter to separate the lines, but then it isn't recognized as the next list item.

What do I do wrong?

It is not Spacing After Line, it is Spacing After Paragraph.

Of course every list item is a new paragraph, and of course only every paragraph has a bullet.

That is the way it is supposed to work, or you would get some very strange behaviour.

Thank you for your response. I didn't write "after line", I wrote "after alinea" which is badly translated dutch. An alinea is a paragraph. :-)

Good to know it's supposed to be this way, although in my opinion it isn't logic at all. A bulleted or numbered list is in my view ONE paragraph. When I set space after a paragraph, I don't use extra blank lines (in a "normal paragraph"). For lists, I have to do this. I don't think it's proper formatting this way. But it's not a big trouble either ;-).

But that is how you control spacing between bullet points or paragraphs with the After/Before paragraph spacing.

You can make it 0 or whatever you want.

You would not want a bullet on every line that is not a paragraph or you would get bullets mid sentence.

That screen snap is the Text Inspector in Pages 5.2 under Format in the Sidebar, which version are you using?
