Is MacBook Air not supported for use for Keynote Remote?

After buying Keynote for Mac Book Air so I could use it with my Keynote I-Phone 5 remote, while pairing it, the system says that Mac Book Air is not a supported device. Is this true? If it is true, had I known before hand, I would have not purchased Keynote for MacBook Air.😠
