Aperture files taking up too much room on my internal drive: Need a Workflow Solution

I shoot tons of images everyday for work. Now my Aperture storage has gotten out of hand. I need to reduce the amount of space my Aperture Library takes up.

Here is my simple current workflow:

1. Import Hi-Res Images to laptop
2. Export Low-Res Images via FTP to websites while on the road.

Goals:

1. Keep Hi-Res Images offsite but
2. Work on Low-Res Images where Edits, Revisions, Project/Albums are maintained on the Hi-Res "side"
