I received iLife 09 pre-loaded or on a DVD with the purchase of my MBP 2009. I had previously upgraded to iPhoto 11 and Garage Band 11 so the new 2013 updates worked for them once Mavericks was installed. However I have yet to receive any upgrade for iMovie and the App Store asks me to pay 13.99 for the 2013 version. Are iMovie 09 legitamite users eligible for an upgrade to 2013? if so, then any ideas what to do next?
Others on these forums are reporting a similar problem. One solution I've seen suggested is to change your langauge to English, then set it back to whatever other language you might be using. That has worked for some but not others. Maybe you should try calling Apple support.
Thanks Alan. I gave it a try but still no luck. I had actually not upgraded Garage Band 09 previously and yesterday an update to the 2013 version arrived in App Store. Maybe the same thing will happen with iMovie at some time. I can't ring apple support as my apple care plans have long expired. I want to update iMovie but don't like wasting the 14 euros if it is a free upgrade.
