How can I see what is there?

Mac mini (Mid 2007), Mac OS X (10.4.11), seems slow

Open System Preferences > iCloud

If you don't see iCloud (blue icon with a cloud) then you need to set that up.

I have iCloud running (I think) but I don't know which documents have been uploaded.

I don't understand how to get to them if I want to retrieve a specific document.

You either use the app you used to create the document to retrive it from the cloud, or use icloud.com.
