Q: Is It True That Sound Check Can't Be Turned Off In iTunes Radio?

Hi,

According to this:

http://news.cnet.com/8301-13645_3-57609317-47/engineer-predicts-apples-itunes-ra dio-will-put-an-end-to-overly-loud-recordings/

and this:

Sound Check can't be turned off in iTunes Radio!

I can't believe it's correct, as it obviously would be a disaster not only for artists and engineers, but especially for fans. And Apple clearly states that the function in iTunes can be turned on and off by users:

But then again; I assume that Cnet and DigitalMusicNews have some kind of sources? If true, it would be a shock to lots of musicians. We spend weeks and months finding the absolutely right levels and dynamics for our work, and automated one-size-fits-all adjustments would be highly destructive to the entire industry while they wouldn't satisfy anybody except a very few senior engineers who long for yesterday's sound.
