So, I am afraid my iphoto is completely gone. When I do alt command function as recommended, I do not get option for rebuilding. Yesterday, after downloading some pictures, my photo popped up and said that an error had occurred and needed rebuilding. I just clicked yes as if it were a standard thing. Since then, it won't open. When it tries to run, I get a quit message that says it is use by another application or is unreadable. Any hope?

MacBook Pro, iPhoto not working.

I would try again. Shut iPhoto down. On launch of the app hold the command and option key for the duration of the complete launch.

if still no luck, try updating your iphoto app.
