Nobody knows what the problem is, I have been facing this issue since the day I updated to iOS 7.0.3. Thought iOS 7.0.4 would resolve it but that didn't happen. Also I didn't try any of the unorthodox methods like hair dryer or keeping phone in freezer, but I have noticed that once in every month the problem resolves and everything is working normal till I restart the phone (or the phone switches off because battery died) and on turning the phone on wifi button is greyed out, full charged battery drains out in 2-3 hours (even on standby ), stock apps like phone, messages and settings app get laggy, so its clear that its a software issue. 2 days back my issue resolved on its own, lets see how long that happyness is going to last. But hey, they fired Scott Forstall as he didn't apologise for Apple Maps blunder, we are still waiting for an apology atleast, if they are not resolving iPhone 4S issues around the world. Come on Tim Cook, now fire someone

I updated my iphone 4s on 17/12/2013...then got this problem also.  I have tried all the fixes suggested to no effect!  This is very frustrating, my ipad updated fine but the iphone is wrecked.  The bluetooth is also not working!

Please hurry up with a fix Apple as we are all getting very frustrated and disgrubtled with apple products by the sounds of it!

Just received a new 4s at the Apple store and it has this problem. I was using iOS 6 until receiving this phone.

    Hi

    Try this:

Do a hard power off (hold home and power button simultaneously till your phone is switched off) then switch on the phone. Now go to Settings > General > About and change the name of your iPhone. Many users are getting back wi-fi connectivity after this. Try it out.

Solved this by following advice from another forum:

    1. Turn aeroplane mode on

    2. Restart your iphone (hold down lock and menu button)

    3. When iphone restarts turn aeroplane mode off again

    Wifi should now be available,

Hope this helps, I was having this problem on my 4s, sometimes before upgrading to iOS7, and more consistently since.

I've gotta say I'm quite dissappointed that apple haven't included this 'hack' on their own support website, surely it's better to admit a hack is needed and not annoy customers than to ignore a problem that a lot of people are having.

That little hack has been working for me although it took a lot of trial and error to get to that. It is damned frustrating that Apple do not acknowledge that there is a software issue here. Fingers crossed that they listen to their customers and repair this.

    To clarify:

    1. Turn On Airplane Mode

    2. Reset the phone by holding the home button and the power button

    3. Turn on your phone

    4. Turn off Airplane Mode

    5. Turn on wifi

This will work but I have noticed that the wifi connection is quite unstable. Works all the same.

Apple: if you are watching our posts, are you proud to release software with a fault like this?

Now, would you believe it, I've just extracted the iPhone 4S from the freezer and restarted it. Hey presto, wifi. We now wait for the reset to finish ... all seemed fine but it froze oh of course, no Sim. Oh well.

Anyone know where I can get a SIM carrier, I've lost it

The Freezer trick worked for our iPhone 4s with iOS 7.1.  We'll see how long it lasts.

    Thanks.
