Oct 29, 2013 7:36 PM in response to pathawitby tanawoot,★HelpfulRight now I know how to solve this. Temporary.
You still be able to open file with previous version of numbers by click on that file >> select open with >> then choose the numbers 2.3
Then it will open previous version of numbers for you.
It may ask you to download a newer version which you just ignore that dialog and start working with numbers 2.3
I just find out, this morning.
I like a new version, I hope they will fix this problem soon.
Hope this could help you.

Oct 29, 2013 8:00 PM in response to pathawitby tanawoot,Sure you can open.
First just go to "File" >> Export to >> export to Numbers '09
That's all, then you can open with previous version.

Oct 30, 2013 3:06 AM in response to pathawitby Rambling Rose,Thank you, pathawit for asking the question and to tanawoot for providing the solution, you have saved me from going round the bend. Fortunately I back up to a Time Capsule, so was able to retrieve my previous version and open in Numbers 2.3.
Why do they remove essential features of the software such as page set up? Too much concentration on fancy charts and layouts and not enough on a basic spreadsheet, which, I would imagine is what 99% of us use.

Oct 30, 2013 3:38 AM in response to Rambling Roseby tanawoot,In fact it is no need to use time capsule for using previous version of numbers
The previous version of numbers can be found by using "open with" menu only, it does hidden in launch pad but still show in application folder.
If that file was created by numbers 3. You still able to use with previous version by export to numbers '09
And once exported you can open file with previous version of numbers
Right click on that file >> open with >> numbers 2.3
All done!
I hope they will add this feature same as new version of pages soon.

Nov 30, 2013 5:55 AM in response to pathawitby El-Beardo,What are Apple playing at I have just come across the same thing, this is the third thing that I have found that worked in Numbers 2.3 but now isn't even there in Numbers 3. I am glad I looked at this though because I was having the same problem where having opened a file in Numbers 2.3 finding it can't then be opened in Numbers 2.3. I also had been restoring old versions of the file to use in 2.3.
I have come to the conclusion that I will abandon Numbers 3 and stick with Numbers 2.3 to save me hassle

Nov 30, 2013 6:50 PM in response to pathawitby Yellowbox,Hi pathawit,
Numbers 2 is in a folder called iWork '09 inside your Applications folder. Drag the icon to the Dock where it will become an alias. Right click (or control click) and Options > Keep in Dock.
Many features have been lost in Numbers 3. You can send feedback to Apple with Menu > Numbers > Provide Numbers Feedback.
