Oct 31, 2013 12:12 PM in response to GifuMarkby jason269,Hi, GifuMark.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here are the steps on how to delete and application installed on a Mac.
Uninstall apps
- To uninstall apps you purchased from the Mac App Store, hold down an app’s icon in Launchpad until all the icons begin to jiggle. Click an app’s delete button (x) to uninstall the app.If an icon doesn’t have a delete button, that app can’t be uninstalled. For example, apps that come with OS X can’t be uninstalled.
- To uninstall other apps, drag the app to the Trash (the Trash is located at the end of the Dock), and then choose Finder > Empty Trash. If you change your mind, before emptying the Trash, select the app in the Trash, and then choose File > Put Back.Warning: When you empty the Trash, the app is permanently removed from your computer. If you have any files that you created with the app, you may not be able to open them.

Jul 14, 2016 4:53 AM in response to jason269by erinilisco,I never use Keynote, and since it's taking up so much space, I've moved the Keynote app to the trash on my Mac. In searching for more related files, I noticed an iTunes file "Keynote 2.5.2.ipa" that's 537.8MB. What exactly is this? Is this just the original app file?? Can I delete this? Thanks!

Jul 14, 2016 5:45 AM in response to eriniliscoby Gary Scotland, ipa files are iOS applications, they are for the iPhone or iPad only, they are not compatible with the Mac. i. You can delete the files as they will still be installed on your iOS devices.
Remember to empty the trash to remove trashed items from your Mac to regain the space.
