Why are my photos now really blurry on the iOS 7????

Why is it that my iPad had an absolutely brilliant camera when I was on the iOS 6 but as soon as I upgrade to the iOS 7 my pictures become really grainy and blurry? I Thought the problem would be sorted when I went to the iOS 7.3 but it is still the same. So disappointed as the main reason I got my iPad was to capture and share the photos I took of my children growing up. I wish I could go back to the iOS 6 as they where such better quality. I might as well go and get a throw camera from the chemist for the quality would be just the same.

iOS 7 has no impact on the quality of your photos, so we need to determine what else may be wrong.

First, do a reset of your iPad by holding the HOME and ON/OFF buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears.

Check your photos now.

What program are you using to view your photos?

Has there been any damage to your iPad, did someone drop it?

The iPad 2 rear camera has a resolution of a mere 960 x 720 = 691.200 pixels.

The iPads sold today have a 5 megapixel camera at the rear.

The difference is simply gigantic, therefore the photos of an iPad 2 will obviously be grainy and blurry to some extent.

It also depends a lot on the amount of light on the subject in your photos.

Also have a look whether there aren't any smudges on the lens of the camera.

Yes I have tried to reset my iPad.

I am using the camera programme that came with the iPad when I bought it.

There has been no damage to my iPad.

My photos were not grainy before I updated to the iOS 7.

It is a big coincidence that they were fine before and now they are not.

I am also the forth person I know of who has had this same problem!

Did you resize the photo?

It is only 449 x 337 instead of 960 x 720.

Anyway, when I resize your photo to 960 x 720 (the rear camera format of the iPad 2), I recognize a typical iPad 2 photograph.

If you want to reduce graininess in your iPad 2 photos, use plenty of light!

Take the same shot as in your photo, but use a lot of light this time, without spooking the cat.

Compare the two photographs, and you should definitely notice a difference.

It is probably the forum software that resized your photo.

You can see that more light improves on the image quality.

In any case, do not expect miracles.

If you want/need good image quality, you need an adequate camera.

The iPad 2 rear camera has a mere 960 x 720 pixels, that's not even close to 1 megapixels.

By comparison, most of the other iPads sport cameras with 5 megapixels!
