no free iphoto update with Mavericks...

Help!

I have a 15 inch mid 2009 macbook pro.

I updated to Mavericks os X 10.9 and it is working but it did not update my iphoto to the latest version.

I still have iphoto '09 version 8.1.2. I went to the mac app store and did all of my updates for keynote, numbers, etc...no update for iphoto there. I went to the app store to iphoto and it's showing $14.99. iphoto is working great...just don't have the new version.
