iPhoto '09 update to the newest problem.

Hello, everybody.

I'm not English, so I'm sorry for the mistakes. I know, that iPhoto '09 is now free, so I want to update it. But there isn't any updates available. Neither in Polish system language nor in English. I installed my iPhoto '09 with DVD. I reinstalled it and there isn't available update, again. Do you have some idea how I could update it?

Change your language to US English, go to the App Store, log in with the Apple ID you used to download Mavericks and check both the Purchases and Updates sections to see if 9.5 is listed.

Then if you're still having problems with the App Store you might try this:

1 - enable the Debug menu in App Store:

  • open the Terminal application.

  • copy the command below and paste into the Terminal window:

defaults write com.apple.appstore ShowDebugMenu -bool true

followed by Enter.

  • launch App Store, login.

2 - select the Debug âž™ Reset Application option:

3 - try again.

No. None of my iLife '09 applications has an update. Every is workin on 8.x.x version. I've already done the debug menu, I have reset the App Store and there isn't any update. I even tried to change the system language into German! It doesn't work. And I tried to search the update by the iPhoto app.

Well I'm sure there are lots of people in Apple who care that you bought iLife 09.

I bought iLife 6, iLife 08, iLife 09, iLife 11, as well as the various versions of iWork along the way.

Updates - bug fixes and so on - where the principal number doesn't change (i.e. from v8 to v8.1.2) are free.

Upgrades - new features - where the principal number changes (v8 to v9) require a purchase.

Nothing new there...

And you don't have to pay for anything. You can keep using 09. If you want the newer features then you pay to upgrade.
