I'm glad to see people pushing this forward. I do 3-4 WebEx meetings a week and I depend on my iCalendar. Not feeling that one can trust the times on one's calendar is a bit disruptive.

I'm seeing this with a non-WebEx invite now but it was sent via Lotus Notes:

ok..I am sending Engineering my iCal appointments as well as screen shots from my calendar.   if you have the same and post...please do so.   I am seeing this from Webex, appointments from MS Outlook Users, and appointments from Lotus Notes users.

I even did a screen share with them to show the webex invite (invited the support engineer to the meeting) and showed how it is wrong on my calendar.

    Interesting quote was..."hmmmm...."

They asked for more examples and said there were going to check the server components that my account touches

  • waldybaldi Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

I believe it only shows wrong  in the calendar of the webex meeting organiser, so I think it is a webex issue not an Apple issue.

  • chip.r Level 1 Level 1 (30 points)

No, I'm pretty sure that it happens to some recipients and I know that someone who just sent me a Lotus Notes calendar invite induced the same result.

  • JMC-88 Level 1 Level 1 (5 points)

It happens almost ALL the time...regardless of the sender.   Webex is consistently wrong.   Notes, Outlook....all wrong....Attached is a meeting that was SUPPOSED to be on my calendar at 7AM central...showed up at 8AM.  It's from a Lotus Notes sender

It has been converted to TXT file and partially "redacted"

Hi, I have the same issue with WebEx and iCal.

Invitations are shown one hour later in iCal than they were planned in WebEx.

And it seems that this happens with my businespartners too, when they invite me from Lotus Notes.

  • Shane Patrick Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

will be watching forum for a solution.  my wife is using lotus at work and have same problem--missed two appointments because of this bug before we figured out calendar was at fault...if Engineering needs any other screen shots, just let me know.

  • jchwcpa Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

I have the same issue. Lotus Notes calendar invites show up in my iCalendar one hour late. In the time section it shows: 2 PM (1 PM EST) as if the invite was sent for EsT instead of EdT. Now it gets crazy: if I accept the invite on my iPHONE, the invite shows the correct time. No error. I believe this started when we switched to DST.

Any ideas, thoughts, input! Any help greatly appreciated!

  • jchwcpa Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

    After a lot of test - pure trial and error and comparison to a working Apple Calendar invite, I found out that the culprit seems to be the RRULE in the Lotus Notes invite. It specifies BYMINUTE=0;BYHOUR=2;

If you copy the invite, change the UID (to make iCalendar believe it is a new invite) and delete (BYMINUTE=0;BYHOUR=2;) in both RRULEs, the invite works.

Now that I know what is wrong, how do we get Lotus Notes or Apple to agree on something that works?

  • manchmod Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

We have the same problem with lotus notes invites, we had IBM open a case with Apple.

  • JMC-88 Level 1 Level 1 (5 points)

Been on the phone w/ Apple Engineering and Support.  Walked though a bunch of settings...nothing.

Narrowed the problem down to Lotus Notes and WebEx (unless anybody out there has an issue I don't know about).

    WebEx has this posting

    anybody tried MyTrueCloud?

  • willic3 Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

The solution by jchwcpa worked for me (editing RRULE).  To tell the truth, I had not noticed this issue before, and I frequently get Lotus Notes calendar invitations from within our company. I live in New Zealand, and the time zone was incorrectly showing up as GMT +13 rather than GMT + 12.  I'm running OS X 10.9.2.

    Thanks

    @ JMC-88

This are good news. So we know they are workin on this issue.

    @ all

    Any news about Lotus Notes?
