MacBook Pro 2009 Wont power on.

Go a MacBook Pro march 2010. It wont power on. Strangest thing is when it is plugged in and i hit the battery indicator it tells me its almost full? But if it is not plugged in to the wall adapter (magsafe) it will not indicate any battery at all. Is this a dodgy battery? Thi Mac wont boot up and ive tried SMC reset already. Could this be a faulty power connector, i mean the actual connector inside the mac pro.
