Stop Sleeping on Mac

I want to know if there is a way to bypass sleeping on a Mac Book Pro. I am a 3D artist, and I render out sequences from Maya which can take days. When I close the lid to move around its goes to sleep and that pauses my Render. I want to be able to close the lid and still Render from Maya. I need to be able to keep it away even when the lid is down. The energy saver options only effects Display and Sleep when the lid is up. The caffeinate function for the Terminal can do this but that is in OS 10.8. I cant upgrade because Maya is currently unsupported for Mavericks. I thing some one said there was an App for it, but I dont know what the app is, or if there is a Terminal overide in Snow Leopard?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
