iPhone 5s iOS 7.0.3 - how can i just send a text WITHOUT having it go straight to group message?

i have group messaging "off" and with the new iOS 7.0.3, while I am in contacts, and press the chat small icon or send message icons, it goes directly as if I was going to "add" more people to my text?

went to apple store for an appointment, and they said "its the new way of messaging, people are sending more MASS messages, so it goes now to add additinal people VS. straight to writing a text?

before it went straight to type mode when electing send message from contact mode.. how can I make this go straight to text / type mode VS trying to add more people??
