Dec 23, 2013 12:58 PM in response to rom1lby Eric Root,Boot into the Recovery Volume (hold down command - R or hold down option key) and restart. I would run Disk Utility Repair Permissions and Verify/Repair before installing. Then reinstall the OS.

Jul 23, 2014 4:08 AM in response to marcodiversiby alkmy,To Apple: There is obviously something wrong here that is more than corrupted HDs since it is happening to so many people, including myself. How about a fix instead of having us run around verifying disks.
It is obviously something in Mavericks since it didn't happen until it was installed.
My MacBook was doing it earlier, and my MacPro started just today after I had installed the latest update.
Please help us solve this problem. It renders the Mac impotent in a lot of the ways that make it superior.

Jan 19, 2015 8:05 AM in response to Riki Gutierrezby myllades,So is this the way Apple works now? Not solving customers problems? I'm sure so many users have had this problem. I've had, and I reinstalled Mavericks 3 times. Works fine for some days and then several Apple Apps stop working. Is that a way to force us ti update to Yosemite? (I don't want to) and then pay to update some third party programs (i.e. Pro Tools). Also, there are so many 15" MacBooks Pro with graphic problems and of course the guys at the Apple Service Centers always say: "It's the logic board, you can have it replaced, but it's so expensive I would recommend a new Mac". I really, really miss Steve Jobs!
