I have been suffering from multiple pop-ups, auto redirections and autoplay media in safari 7.0 in os x mavericks, despite having pop up blocker turned off! I have had a browse around the internet a few times after this has happened, in search of results (turned up nothing) but it is now getting to the point where I just want it to go away! Help please??

I am having the same problem. Pop up blocker is on, but many redirects when clicking links. And also ads. Just started with Mavericks. Nothing coming up on Google about it anywhere. It is malware? Why is nobody answering you? Did you figure it out yourself?
Shoileygal, try going to Safari > Preferences > Extensions and deleting any weird applications that are installed. I deleted one that was a Malware called "Yontoo" and it got rid of all my pop problems. Hope this works for you 🙂
