Unable to change iPod driver on Windows 8

I recently upgraded my iTunes. When I connected my iPod to my laptop, it wouldn't recognize it. I've had this happen to me before, my iPod was being shown as an external storage. So I started searching on the web for solutions and came upon some forums with similar situations. I found one with the steps on how to change the iPod driver from external storage to back to normal. I followed all the steps up to final step in the Disk Management, but the iPod drive isn't there. I provided a screen shot. So if anyone has any solutions on how to fix it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.User uploaded file

Have you given your iPod a reset? Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple and it reboots. See if that helps.

You can also try going into the control panel, add/remove programs and remove the apple mobile device driver. Restart your computer and plug your device back in and see if the driver install is triggered.

If you are running windows 8.1 there is a feature where you can turn off the automatic install of drivers, so if you have 8.1 that's another place to look.
