Unable to add Filemaker file to iPhone

Hi all,

I have made a test file that I want to run on my iPhone but when I try to add it to the phone I get an error message that says it could not be copied because I do not have permission to view its contents. As it is only a test file I have set the sharing permissions to all can view and edit in the finder and in Filemaker I have set just a username with no password for full access. Any ideas appreciated

Mac Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), GT120, HD4870

If you create a pdf or doc, etc. You can send it to yourself as an attachment.

Viewable document types

.jpg, .tiff, .gif (images); .doc and .docx (Microsoft Word); .htm and .html (web pages); .key (Keynote); .numbers (Numbers); .pages (Pages); .pdf (Preview and Adobe Acrobat); .ppt and .pptx (Microsoft PowerPoint); .txt (text); .rtf (rich text format); .vcf (contact information); .xls and .xlsx (Microsoft Excel); .zip; .ics

You can't change the format as it is application specific so it has to be a .fmp12 file. There are other .fmp12 files on the phone that are example files

Then you need to find an app for your iPhone that support the format.

I have the application, Filemaker Go installed. It is somehow a permissions problem but I can't find out where it resides, iTunes, iPhone or file

Connect and select iPhone in computer iTunes sidebar (iTunes > View > Show Sidebar), on the right at the top choose Apps. Scroll down to File Sharing section, select the Filemaker app and on the right choose Add.. button.

Have you try the developer website?

Sorry ckuan, I did say "When I try to add it to the iPhone". Yes, I have posted a question in FMforums to see if there are any answers there. I tried here as well as it is iPhone specific.

UPDATE. I am posting this if any one else has the same problem:

I opened the test file on my phone from a local server, (my Mac), and after I had opened it, iTunes then allowed me to transfer the file to my iPhone. I don't have the faintest idea why but at least it works.

I have the same issue. I had a iTunes melt down, have restored everything, but am unable to get this to sync now. I previously had the .FMP file on my phone, and have opened it many times, but am now getting the permission message. I reopened the file and corrected the permission in finder to allow everyone to read write. Suggestions?

Are you trying to open the file on your iPhone? If so open it on your Mac from the phone first, that solved my permissions problem
