The status bar text in the native video app is white, this not visible.
I'm using an iPhone 5S running iOS 7.0.3, the data was backed up from my iPhone 4 which was running iOS 7

I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 7.0.3, and the status bar font color for me when opening the Video app is Black. Can you try a reset on your phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot. This will have no affect on your data.

Thanks for the quick reply..i tried to rest my phone using the home and sleep/wake buttons, BUT no change, status bar text is still white.
Press the home button so the app is not on the screen. Then double tap the home button, swipe upwards on the thumbnail of the app to close it off. Then do the reset again. After the phone reboots, open the app and see if it is corrected.
Did that too..text still white.
After a reset, the next steps in user troubleshooting is restore from backup, and then if necessary, restore as new. You can always make a backup of your device, and then try the restore as new. This deletes everything from the device, but will install the iOS. If it works then, go ahead and restore from your backup. If it breaks again, then it has something to do with the backup.

I did what you said, restored my phone to factory settings and the text color was black, then I did a back up and it was still black.
