Can not import Stickies Database

I am trying to find out how to import the StickiesDatabase from my original Snow Leopard installation (separate hard drive) to my new Mavericks install.

I do not see StickiesDatabase in the /Library though. Can anyone offer suggestions on how to bring all my old stickies back?

Thanks.

Hello all.

I've succeeded in retrieving my old Stickies Database from a partition that has my old Lion OS and files, so I can use it with Stickies in a new partition that has El Capitan. El Capitan will not let me open the Library folder which contains my old StickiesDatabase file.

Open a Terminal window and use the following command to reveal all hidden files:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE

Press Command/Option/Esc and Force Quit Finder. Finder will relaunch, with hidden files now shown.

Set up two Finder windows and drag and drop the old StickiesDatabase, found at

/[old disk or partition]/Users/[username]/Library/StickiesDatabase

on top of the new one, at

/[new disk or partition]/Users/[username]/Library/StickiesDatabase .

Open Stickies and see your old notes.

Put Finder back to normal with this command in Terminal:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE

Relaunch Finder, as per the instruction above, or use the Terminal command:

killall Finder

Create a new Stickie with the above commands recorded for future reference!

:-)

Regards, Rick.
