Aug 10, 2016 9:18 AM in response to deebrownby Bill13725,I'm not sure this is an iOS problem. I am trying to use airplay on a MacBook Pro and have the problem of the connection dropping and sometimes a message from Mac OSX saying the connection with "family room TV" was lost.

I believe OSX has a built-in capability to display the signal strength of nearby networks. You should try to pick a channel for your network that's different. Channels 1, 6, and 11, or any of the 5 GHz channels are best. Login to your router and change the channel.

Aug 13, 2016 12:32 PM in response to diesel vdubby Slimmmerman,You say this a lot, but it doesn't cut out to either of my Apple Airports, just my Apple TV, so how can it be the network?

Aug 13, 2016 1:41 PM in response to Slimmmermanby Diana.McCall,Hi. Do you have a problem that you'd like to fix, or do you just want to argue? If you have a problem, you could start a new question, describe the problem, the fixes you have already tried, etc. It would also help if you described your network setup, routers, switches, APs, WiFi extenders, devices on ehternet or WiFi, etc.

Aug 14, 2016 4:45 AM in response to diesel vdubby thaleb,You are quite the arrogant guy! You must be an Apple Genius.....I get a lot of dropouts and lost connections. It happens on the following for me:-
1) Ipad Mini 2
2) Iphone 6s
3) Ipad Air 2
and on all 5 Apple Tvs (3 here in Switz and 2 in Spain)
and on my brand new Swisscom router in Switzerland
and on my brand new Huawei router in Spain
Now what you got Bighead? Let me guess, you are 30, right?

Aug 14, 2016 10:35 AM in response to Diana.McCallby Slimmmerman,Yes, i do have a problem, that's why I made the comment!
my Apple TV was working great 2 weeks ago, no problems with AirPlay from my iMac or movies from Apple, but this weekend everything freezes intermittently, music cuts out or movies stop. My internet is high speed and ATV is linked direct to Internet via cable.

Aug 14, 2016 1:06 PM in response to Slimmmermanby Diana.McCall,OK. As I suggested, a new question might be a better way to handle this. But, have you tried the obvious steps of restarting the router, then power-cycling ATV? What version ATV is it? Have you made any changes related to DNS (internet name servers)?

Sep 10, 2016 10:59 AM in response to deebrownby d33znutz45,So I don't know if everyone is still checking this thread. Honestly I just created a username just to help everyone out. So I've had problems with apple tv disconnecting and then I tried airplay from the Iphone and it disconnects every so often. So I'm currently testing a theory and its looking pretty good right now. I have a netgear wifi router connected to comcast right now. On my netgear router i gave apple tv the highest queue for QOS so it can monopolize the connection when being used. I also moved my firewall security down to the minimum on Comcast's wireless router. I honestly believe that was really the cause of the disconnects. I've been testing an 11 minute video off of youtube, airplayed to apple tv, and every since i adjusted the firewall setting to Minimum on Comcast it hasn't had a problem yet.
