Q: 10.7.5 upgrade to Mavericks.... Download freezes. Cannot even start anymore.
Help! I started dowloading Mavericks today as I need it to download Keynote. I clicked "Free Upgrade" and then it started downloading. The button status changed to "downloading" However, it was taking forever, nothing seemed to be happening. AFter about 40 minutes, I had to leave work and go home. When I got home it froze. So I restarted my computer and clicked "Free Upgrade" again. Now it turns to a gray "download" box. No matter how many times I click on it, nothing happens. I went into purchases. Same thing: the gray "download" box/button. Again no matter how many times I click on it, it just stays gray and says "download" I cannot get it to tell me it is downloading anymore. Its most frustrating that I cannot even get a box telling me what is the problem like used to be common on a Mac when something doesn't work.
To make matters worse. I can no longer purchase an older version of Keynote that will work on my computer. I must download Mavericks. Very frustrated.
I even got an email from Apple alerting me I had downloaded Mavericks. Except I haven't, which is rather annoying. Any advice on how to troubleshoot this. I have OS 7.5 at the moment and what I really want right now is Keynote.
Dear XXXX,
Your Apple ID, XXXXX, was just used to download OS X Mavericks from the Mac App Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID. You may also be receiving this email if you reset your password since your last purchase.
This download was initiated from Japan.
If you initiated this download, you can disregard this email. It was only sent to alert you in case you did not initiate the download yourself.
If you did not initiate this download, we recommend that you go toiforgot.apple.com to change your password, then see Apple ID: Tips for protecting the security of your account for further assistance.
Regards, |
No matter how many times I shutdown and restart the same thing happens.
Is there no way anymore to upgrade without going through the App store?
