Q: Dictation not working on mavericks

I have downloaed the additional file for offline dictation, and when i double click the fn key i get a beep but nothing shows up in the text field on ANY app. i have left the pref plane open and the mic is picking up my voice as the blue line moves within the mic as it should , yet i can not get any text to show at all ???

Ay ideas as i am getting sick of this, Mavericks is buggy as **** and this is just a pain in the ****.

Deleting the user library, caches, com.apple.SpeechRecognitionCore folder worked for me. I tried all other suggestions except reinstalling the OS.

Thank you. This solved the issue for me, as well. It's like Dictation needed an official go ahead using the menu.

Same frustrating problem and posts didn't seem to correct it. It is unpredictable and not worth using at this point.
Any new updates, as I really want to use it.
