Q: To do list on Calendar has disappeared??

I have kept a to do list on my calendar where I keep all my monthly bills that need to be paid. Since my upgrade to Maverick I cannot find the list in calendar. Does this list exist in the new calendar format?

Appreciate any help.

I believe it is replaced by the Reminders app in Mavericks.

Yes too bad Now I need two apps instead of one for such a simple task like a ToDo list...

Is there at least a way to show reminders in the new Notification Window to the left? In some first testing nothing showed up there...?

Yes, that was a really stupid thing Apple did and I can't understand why. To put the calendar and the to-dos back together again, the only way is BusyCal, which is far too expensive for what it does, but which for me is indispensable.

This was a poor move by Apple. I just upgraded to Mavericks because my MacBook Pages 4.3 couldn't read a client's Pages 5.01 files.

What made me a huge fan of Apple was the iCal - two OS's ago. I have since integrated iCal into a productivity & time-shaping method and highly recommended it to 100s of clients and teams for its versatility.

The key to my and others' productivity has been the capacity to color-code numerous categories of tasks. The way I got around iCal's limitations in the past was through using the color-coding options in the Reminders and then swinging the reminder right onto the calendar - much easier and more versatile than creating a new event.

With the cumbersome Reminders app - an incomprehensible move by someone at Apple - this adaption is gone.

I'm now searching for another simple, elegant calendar systems that has more color-coding options.

    Ideas?

Thank you for telling us about the reminders app!

I had all my dinner ideas in my 'to do list' and could easily drop them onto my calaner to make a monthly menu plan. I'm glad they are not lost, but sad that I can no longer drop and drag.

Apple bring back the To Do List please!

Indeed an incomprehensible move.  For color-coding categories, check out Teamup at teamup.com, but it does not have reminders.

I am astounded and extremely disappointed that yet again Apple engineers have chosen to destroy the effectiveness and multi-use capacity of a quite reasonable application.

I have a Mac Book Pro and in upgrading to Mavericks, I find out of the blue that Task list has disappeared from my Calendar.

I endorse everyone elses comments in that I use Task list all the time every day WITH my Calendar on the same page as a tool for my business priorities and personal planning.

    It worked well!

Could Apple please listen to these posts and bring Task lists back to Calendar???

Again as a disilusioned Apple tragic, I am off to find other versions.

    Any help will be appreciated.

Could anyone please advise whether  I can show an integrated view of all my tasks?

I am also disappointed that cannot see the priority for tasks without opening them up.

    Have you tried Google Calendar?

I don't use it because of *the Google thing* although it seems to do the job. Instead I use BusyCal, which is ridiculously expensive but does what I need to do, which includes combining tasks and a calendar in one application.

I use the 'My Day' in outlook now. It only shows one day, but for tasks, that works for me.

All my old To Do items disappeared -- they were not migrated to Reminders. Are they saved/migrated elsewhere? Or did Apple just screw us and delete them?

I agree - just migrated to Mavericks, and found that the Todo-list disappeared from Calendar. What a strange thing.

Apple bring back the To Do List please!
