Mar 19, 2014 11:52 AM in response to Lumberjax_9605by roberthuttinger,No matter what I do, resyncing, nuking, restoring, restarting, unsyncing, signing out, signing in, I cannot get recent purchases to sync.
When I have my phone selected and I click on the 'On This Phone' button the songs are all greyed out. They will not transfer or download. They are in the playlist and play in iTunes, just not on my phone.

Jan 8, 2015 11:38 AM in response to braden85by prayerman,I have exactly same problem. I have clicked on this referenced article, which only takes me to the Apple support page without any reference on how to proceed to the article. I am desperate for an answer as well.

Apr 24, 2016 10:09 AM in response to Lumberjax_9605by Matcherbeck,That link was useless to me. Just a menu for apple products.
I couldn't sync purchased songs, either. In my case, I realized they were in the cloud and not downloaded to my computer. So I clicked on the profile circle to the left of the Search box in iTunes, and selected Purchased from the dropdown list. At the bottom right of Purchased albums is a DOWNLOAD ALL button. I clicked this and it downloaded these songs and allowed me to sync.

May 21, 2016 5:00 PM in response to Lumberjax_9605by zani d,I, too, am having trouble syncing new songs I purchased from i-tunes. I've spent many hours over several days browsing all the message boards and trying about 6 - 7 suggestions for fixes. My problem seems to be that i-Tunes has divided my songs into 2 libraries and will only sync one of them. It looks like the last songs I purchased got downloaded into a new library but they still appear in my i-Tunes library. I could play them on my computer but can't sync them to my i-pod. I tried deauthorizing and reauthorizing my i-pod but that didn't work. Any suggestions?

Jun 5, 2016 5:07 PM in response to Lumberjax_9605by jemini515,I've been having the same issues for MONTHS (since I upgraded to the latest iPod Touch in Fall 2015), and just tonight I tried something that helped with the songs that would not sync:
Within iTunes I edited the "info" of the songs to be as simple as possible. In particular, I took out quotation marks or other punctuation ("!?<> etc.) from the song/artist/album text, and when that didn't work I shortened or eliminated the text in the composer field. Then magically the files transferred when I dragged them over to the iPod. Not sure if this will work for anyone else, but it worked for me, on both purchased iTunes songs and a few outside mp3s.

Aug 23, 2016 2:20 PM in response to jemini515by Ames_E,Thank you for sharing that info! Both songs that would not sync on my iPod had (parentheses) included in the titles. I deleted those then did the drag/drop. IT WORKED! It's odd that that's now an issue after countless song purchases that contained characters.
