My i pod nano keeps changing the songs itself, if i click forward it will forward 3 songs forward. If not it will just keep changing the songs itself.
Does anyone know whats wrong with it? Or will i have to send it back to Apple.
Mine is doing this too! It will play a few seconds or half or most of a song, and then skip a song or two! Other times the song will work. This didn't happen until about the 4th time I used my nano.
Well, I just returned an ipod and this one is only 1 day old. In fact it's not even a day old, and it's doing this. Someone needs to call them or stop in and find out what's going on.
Surely they don't communicate and solve problems on their own website, which is absurd.
I have called apple support. After doing at least 4-5 suggested fixes, nothing has worked. I'm currently waiting (5 minutes so far) for a "product specialist."
a reset does not fix the problem, at least, it did not for me.
Mine is currently fixed, we'll see how long it last for.
Run your Ipod Updater, do the update only first. After you are done, SAFELY REMOVE the ipod from your computer, see if that works.
Assuming that it will fail, run the IPOD updater again, this time, RESTORE the ipod. It should be hooked up while this process is going on of course. When you are done, SAFELY REMOVE the ipod again, see if this works.
After I did the restore, it renamed, my ipod to "IPOD." Initially it did not work, in fact the "IPOD" never showed up in Itunes software. We ran the RESTORE again and it seemed to have been "frozen."
After the lady talked to product support she suggested we try one more time and if that failed, take it back (it's 1 day old!).
Before I did this, I unplugged, SAFELY the IPOD and plugged it back in. It is then when "IPOD" showed up. And in fact after I SAFELY removed the ipod the songs did not skip any longer.
1. RUN the updater, 2006-06-28. Download from apple if you do not have that updated.
2. Run the normal update first, I highly doubt this will work.
3. Run the RESTORE.
Always remember to SAFELY remove the hardware after each attempt, it needs to be refreshed and started anew.
If you have any questions, I can attempt to help you. I am not an Apple tech, nor a wise ol IPOD user, but my ipod is now working, and yours is not, =). Just messing around.
