iOS 7 problems

When I updated to iOS I noticed that the volume and play/play button didn't work on any headphones other that EarPods. I waited hoping it would fix in an update but it hasn't. Has anyone else got this problem?

iPhone 4, iOS 7

My phone DOES NOT RING 90% of the time. Callers go directly to voicemail. This is also happening to two other iPhoners I know (one on ATT, one on Verison). Let's face it, aphone that does not ring is not really a phone...can anyone help?
