Classic Mac OSI suspect the lcd screen is going bad. I do not think moving to leopard would help.
You can attach another monitor to the machine.
Try a safe boot.
Shutdown your machine. Hold down the shift key. Poweron. Wait awhile; wait awhile while you harddrive
is being checked. If safe boot help, report back.

Oct 31, 2013 8:07 PM in response to rccharlesby RIPSTEVEJOBS5511,I was also wondering about the backlight since all whites also have bluetint going on. Are they CFL? If yes, I could swap the blue CFL for white.

Classic Mac OSTry safe boot. If it is a problem with the video chip, safe boot gets around a bad video chip because safe boot doesn't use the video chip. Does things in software.

Nov 3, 2013 5:51 PM in response to RIPSTEVEJOBS5511by rccharles,The machine needs to be 7 years young. Try some independent dealer. The cheapest thing would be to buy another monitor.

Classic Mac OSI'm pretty sure it's not monitor related.
-- installed leopard & no change.
-- ran in safe mode & no change.
& what is your evidence of this?
Plug in another monitor & see what this monitor looks like.
apple > system preferences > monitor
look at color
apple > system preferences > monitor
look at universal access. There are settings to change the look of the monitor. I do not recall a setter for the effect you are stating.
