In ios7 using an iPhone 5S when there is an incoming call the "Reply With Message" feature, introduced in ios6, no longer appears. What seems odd is that within Settings I am able to edit messages with which to reply, but I can't use the function. Has this function been removed (if so why is there still the ability to edit the messages?), is this another ios7 glitch, or do I need to activate deactivate or change another setting? Thanks.

Check: Settings>General>Passcode Lock>Reply with Message>On.
Hi. The settings are fine, it's set to On, but "Reply With Message" just doesn't appear. Seems to be yet another example of sloppy programming.
That only appears if your phone is unlocked when it rings.
No it appears in both locked and locked with the right settings. . Do you at least get the reply with message when the phone is unlocked or you don't get at all?

Try resetting your phone, as there is no other restriction for this, & pdroth's post is incorrect:
Press the Sleep/Wake button & Home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.
Don't get the option to "Reply With Message" at all. Except, it seems, when I'm syncing the phone. Weird. As for having to reset the phone, it's 2 days old. If things aren't working as they should after just 2 days then someone should be hung. Had two iPhone 4's, one the battery life was abysmal and the display was yellow, the second the sleep/wake button failed followed shortly by the display. Gave Apple a last chance with the 5S, really really disappointed. What has gone wrong with them?
If you don't want to troubleshoot yourself, & the phone is only two days old, make an appointment at an Apple store.
To clarify: should the "Reply With Message" appear WHENEVER there is ANY incoming call, regardless of whether it is locked, unlocked, syncing, crashing (yep it's done that once already), when I'm using it, not using it, day, night, rain, shine?

Exactly what appears on your phone when you get an incoming call? I've just tried calling myself from a different line when the phone is asleep and unlocked and I get the Message box above and to the right of slide to answer. To the upper left is the reminder button.
