Maps show whole country rather than region

I'm doing several travel photo books with the photo essay theme.

When i add my places to the maps the region will be highlighted instead of the whole country. This is very confusing. Also there are far too many boarders in all the European countries and the actual borders aren't bold anything, so it's very difficult to distingish between them.

Is there any way to just show the country borders (How it used to be)?


The map feature in iPhoto is far better developed. Do I really have to make my maps there and then import them as pictures in Aperture to get decent maps?

It is still the same in Aperture 3.5, firstlaunch.


This has behaviour has been around at least since Aperture 3.4. What we would need, would be an option to chose between provinces and countries:

For example, Spain looks like this on a map:

This feature is quite o.k. for for large countreis like the United States, that have the size of a continent, but usually not very useful for smaller countries in Europe.
