iPhone 5s battery issues and recall

So is there an actual way to know if an iPhone 5s needs replacement due to the manufacturing defect that apple announced few days ago? are there any part numbers? and what is considered a defective phone in terms of Usage Vs Standby?

Thanks

According to a statement Apple released, regarding this issue, they(Apple) will contact affected users. That indicates they have identified the phones affected with this issue by SN. So, unless Apple contacts you, you're not affected. Or, make an appointment at any Apple store to confirm.

I assume you activated the iPhone with your Apple ID and associated email?

In which case they know your email address / ID is using that Serial Number

I would hold tight and wait for news.

If you're experiencing battery problems anyway; would it harm to contact them anyway?
