.m4v to iPhone's camera roll?

I created a 15 second video I want to upload to Instagram on iMovie in my MacBook Pro. The final video is on a .m4v file, but I want to transfer the file to my iPhone's camera roll so I can upload the video to Instagram.

How should I proceed to do that? I downloaded a converter and converted the .m4v file to a .mp4 file, sent the file through gmail and tried to save the file to my camera roll but to not success (it doesn't give me the option to save it to my iPhone from the e-mail, apparently because the video is not compatible).

Please help me 🙂

Open the file in the QuickTime Player. It offers an Export option for iPhones.

I did what you said and once I synced my iPhone I can't find where the video was stored? Any help with that? Thanks for the reply though!

That just creates an iPhone compatible file on your computer. To actually sync it to your iPhone see:

How can I add a video file (.mp4/.mov), I intend to upload to Instagram, to show up in the camera roll (iPhone 4S iOS 6) WITHOUT having to sync all of my photos, videos, and music?

If I can't do that without syncing, why not? and if not, is there other software I could use (be it supported by Apple or not) that I can use to do this?
