MacBook Pro 15" 2006 Harddrive

I have a 15" MacBook Pro from 2006. The harddrive is about to die and I would like to replace it with the best possible harddrive that is still compatible with the other original components of it. Please let me know if you have an suggestions please!

MacBook Pro (15-inch Core 2 Duo), Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Any SATA 2.5", 9.5 mm thick HDD will work in your MBP. I have good success with HGST and Seagate HDDs. Note that there will be cheerleaders and detractors for all of the various brands.
