In iBooks my copies in iCloud show up multiple times. Try to delete but they come back. How do I permantly delete extra copies?

You can hide these books,go to view options in iBooks menue,and un check view icloud purchases

I have the same problem. I have tried deleting the copies, but now it won't even give me the delete option.

Which iBooks menu? I don't see a menu in iBooks on my iPad and for some reason all my iTunes account on my Mac tells me is that I can see my books on my iPad. I am very confused. I just want the books gone.

I would love to post one, but, again, I don't know how. I clicked the camera on this window which led me to a pop up asking me to chose a photo to insert. I proceeded to choose the screenshot (.PNG), but it would not insert. Then I changed the photo to a .jpg. Again, it would not insert.

All it really is is a ton of books downloading (they are all gray-ed out). When they finish downloading, I delete the book. It will stay off of my screen for a few minutes and then re-appear as downloading again.

Now it decided it wanted to work.

Hmm,firstly delete the app and redownload it from the app store,If that doesnt work,go to system prefrences and scroll down to (iBooks) settings and disable "show all purchases",also "sync purchases".further more go into "iTunes&App store" settings and disable "iBooks" under the "automatic downloads".Does that work?

Do you currently have Settings > iBooks > Show All Purchases set 'on' ? If you do then try turning it 'off' - with it 'on' I was getting multiple copies of books showing on my bookshelf (you can redownload books via the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the iBooks app).

But I don't want to hide it. I have other purchases in iCloud that I want to see. And then I get to see 15 duplicate copies of the books I don't want.

I assume that it's a bug with the iBooks app - until it's fixed you can either have multiple copies showing, or you can turn off 'show all purchases' (you can still view and redownload ibooks that are in the cloud, whilst they remain in your country's store, via the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the iBooks app).
