Collaborative editing unable between two ipad users

I'm trying to share a numbers file created on an iPad (and stored on iCloud) with my wife's iPad to allow for real time editing, but seems to me that the only way to do it is using a web browser running on a MAC o PC (Safari on the iPad seems unable to do it). Is not possible to do it with numbers running on two iPads? How strange... Ought to be my fault.

Thanks for your support.

My understanding is that the new collaboration is done in iWork for iCloud in a web browser on a computer. iWork for iCloud is not supported in any browser on an iOS device.

Apple seems to be lightyears behind Google, you can't even work at the same time in the cloud on a document, if you do so it will save after doing so two seperate documents.

My girlfried shared a document with me, i opened it by clicking on that e-mail link (by the way, I have to use all the time this e-mail link, it never showed up as an icon in my iCloud) we both had it open at the same time and we both changed a cell at the same time, she got then a conflict message and could save either mine or her or both documents, she saved both, at the master document her changes where saves at the copy my changes where saves,

after closing and reopening at my side,

my changes where gone, they where saved at the new copy, but as the new copy was a new doc it was not shared with me ... so I never saw my changes again.

this is all a little strange if you have worked for so many years with Google and got presented from Apple, we now have the same posibilitis to share, it's not even close to how it should work ...

I would not name it Beta, it's more an Alpha state.

Grrrr yes I also just stumbled across this very problem after I spent the money on the app for my girlfriend. I've requested a refund as this is very very poor. Iwork for iCloud pages talk of sharing, collaboration, ios, web etc etc yet in practice I simply can't collaborate with another user on an ios device using safari or Numbers app.

Very disappointing.

Share document links with others instead of sending out lots of separate attachments. Then make instant progress by editing together in real time. See who’s in the document and follow their cursor as they make edits alongside you. You’ve never had a closer working relationship. With people so far away.

This issue of editing on the iPad is not working as of yet. I was so excited to find that iWork had numbers and 100 people could collaborate but that is only great if everyone is on a desktop/laptop not an iPad. I am in need of an Apple product that allows me to collaborate with others. Giving certain users view only, and others edit privileges from their mobile device (iPad).

Thank you for your help!
