Brand new iPhone 5s. Now, it requires the passcode immediately - so if I put the phone to sleep, but then turn it back on, it immediately require the passcode. Annoying when frequently texting. With my 4s I was able to change it. But there's no option to change it on the 5s? or is something wrong with mine?

Do you have a corporate profile installed on the phone that may be disabling the other time frames?
Also try a reset of the Phone if you haven't done so already.
Hold down the Home and Sleep/Power buttons until the Apple Logo shows up.
This tends to fix glitches like these if it is a gltich.
It should be under Settings->General->Passcode Lock->Require Passcode.
You can set it to up to 4 hours.
Do you have Fingerprint turned on? If so, the phone defaults to "Require Immediately" for passcode.
I don't have those options!
it just shows "immediately" with a check mark.
and below that it says "shorter times are more secure.
