If I had the NAND problem with my iphone 5, is my sim card ruined?

I had the NAND screen on my phone and I went to the apple store and they ordered me a new one. I haven't been able to back up my phone for a while since I've been away, so I was wondering, is my sim card ruined or could I just put it in my new phone?
