Is there a way for a quadrapulilgic to open iPhone without hitting the home button? I've tried raising the button with a stick on bump to help her but as time goes by it's getting to tricky for her. Is there a like a voice command we can program to act as home button swiping the slider to get to phone is near impossible for her. Any suggestions will be much appreciated? She has an iphone5, I'll be going there tomorrow to help update to ios7. thank you for any tips at all!

There is an option in Settings to make things a bit easier.

Go to: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5018?viewlocale=en_US

the option you are looking for is Assistive Touch. It allows commonly used commands

like open, close, home screen, lock, unlock to be triggered by one press on a floating

button on the screen rather than pressing home button. I am not sure if you can do this

with voice.
