iMac 27' wont wakeup after sleep mode - OS X Mavericks

iMac 27' late 2012 running OS X Mavericks wont wakeup after entering sleep mode. Clicking on the trackpad / keyboard buttons doesnt help - Nothing on the screen. Always need to do a hard reset pressing down on the power button. Did not have this issue previously with Mountain lion. Is this something to do with my settings or is it a bug?

Same issue on my early 2009 MacBook, after sleep overnight the machine has to be powered off (long hold of power button) and on again. The "sleep" light is on when the case is closed but no other sign of life, and no response to mouse, keyboard, or short presses of power button. Only opening the lid has an effect, i.e. to turn off the sleep light.

Hi I am having this problem too. This problem is rather random, sometimes my iMac is able to wake on pressing the keyboard or POWER button on the body, and sometimes it goes dead, and the only way is to cut the power and try to power on again. Sometimes, cutting the power isn't enough, in which cutting the power and turning on the mains again and pressing the POWER button results in no chime. I have to unplug, let it wait a miniute before trying to power again.

Also another random issue is the screen going black, looks like an unexpected shutdown. Again, the way to resolve is to cut the power switch on the mains and try to power on the iMac again.

My iMac the late 2012 27" model, running i7 3.4GHz processor and 3TB fusion drive configuration.
