Q: Can you explain?

Hi,

Yesterday I migrate my Macs from Lion to Mavericks. After the migration I also apply all the updates from the App Store.

This morning I received this message (I replace my Apple ID by XXXXXXXX:)

Your Apple ID, XXXXXXXX, was just used to download iPhoto from the Mac App Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID.

If you initiated this download, you can disregard this email. It was only sent to alert you in case you did not initiate the download yourself.

If you did not initiate this download, we recommend that you go to iforgot.apple.com to change your password, then see Apple ID: Tips for protecting the security of your account for further assistance.

Regards,

Apple

When I check on the App Store iPhoto is not free. I'm not use iPhoto but on my mac I always seen it. I always thought it was part of the Apple applications provided by default with a Mac. Like some other applications provided by Apple when I migrate to Mavericks App Store also update this application.

My questions:

  • I do not understand why I receive this message because I don't changed my Apple ID or my Mac? Migration bug?
  • App Store offer itself to update iPhoto so why now it send me a message like I bought it? App Store bug?
